Bone stock Corvette ZR1 laps Nürburgring in 7:26.4! GM development engineer Jim Mero piloted Corvette ZR1 around the Nürburgring, completing flying lap in a time of 7:26.4. The hand-built 6.2 liter LS9 supercharged V8 engine was initially estimated at 620 hp, 100 hp per liter, but has exceeded expectations with 638 hp (476 kW) and 819 Nm of torque (604 lb.-ft.) Powere by Katech 8.2L V8 engine that can take E85 or traditional fuel, it puts down 600hp and 600ft.lb of torque. The all carbon fiber body C6R.S is being showcased at SEMA 2007. American Le Mans Series Grand Prix of Mosport, september 1-3. After 123 laps of wet Mosport Olivier Beretta and Oliver Gavin in C6R#4 finished 2nd after 009 Aston Martin DBR9, followed by 007 DBR9 which set the fastest lap time. Ron Fellows and Johnny O'Connell finshed in 4th position due to stop-and-go penalty which seemed to be unreasonable.
